*Prior to Your Audition* If you have never worked at Six Flags before or have not been employed by Six Flags in the last three years, please complete the online pre-application at www.sixflagsjobs.com. This does not guarantee you a position, however, it is a requirement for employment.

Location

Six Flags Great Adventure – Showcase Theatre. Enter via Employee Entrance at 1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson, NJ – park in employee parking lot, pass through Security Gate 5 (metal detection/bag inspection), follow signs to theater.

Choose one of two open spring audition dates (no reservation/appointment required):

Dancers, Singers, Actor/Hosts, Characters, Safari Guides, Specialty Performers

Have fun performing in an exciting, fast-paced environment, build your resume, and get paid to do it!  We’re looking for singers for the stage and in studio, host/dancers for children’s and animal shows, a team of energetic dancers, models and actors to fill a variety of positions including street performers and costumed characters, Safari tour guides, and specialty performers; plus, we’re already scouting for experienced dancers for our signature Fright Fest shows.  Positions are available seasonally from March 24, 2018 thru Jan. 1, 2019.

Performer Position Descriptions:

  • Dancers – Seeking beginner to advanced dancers for show character positions, signature Fright Fest show and other opportunities.  Background in musical theater, jazz, hip hop, partnering and other dance techniques like tumbling a plus, great with children, willing to work in a bulky costume or full face makeup and hot/cold conditions.  Character positions - between the heights of 5’0 and 5’8, 16 years or older, $10/hr. Fright Fest dancers – advanced dancers only, no height requirement, 18 years or older preferred, $15+/hr. See audition requirements.
  • Singers - Seeking theatrical/pop singers for stage show and pop singers for studio recordings. Show - great people skills, basic dancing abilities, willing to work in hot/cold conditions, $10/hr. Studio – available for on or off-site studio recording, 16 years or older, pay TBD. See audition requirements.
  • Characters – Seeking actors for costumed street character positions.  Great people skills, especially with children, dance skills a plus, willing to work in a bulky costume and hot conditions, between the heights of 5’0 and 5’8, 16 years or older.  $8.75/hr. See audition requirements.
  • Specialty performer - Jugglers, stilt walkers, magicians, etc. Any specialty talent will be looked at for premiere street show.  $10/hr. 
  • Actor/Model: Male height range 6’0”- 6’3” slender build, no body builder types, must have strong jawline and chin. Female height range 5’9” - 5’11” slim to athletic build with curves. Candidates must be confident, energetic and be able to portray heroic qualities.
  • Hosts - Need Hosts for shows throughout the park. Must be outgoing, fun, energetic, strong presence, good on a microphone. 16 years or older. $10/hr.
  • Safari Off Road Adventure Tour Guide - Need hosts to ride aboard our Safari Off Road Adventure trucks while informing guests about our animals in an entertaining way. Ability to memorize facts/scripts, great people skills, outgoing, enthusiastic, ability to stand for extended periods of time and work in extreme weather conditions.

 

Audition Requirements:

  • Host/Guide/Actor/Model – Come ready to read a script (provided) and show off your stage presence and personality.
  • Dancers – Come ready to learn a short combination. Advanced dancers be ready to freestyle and demonstrate any special skills like tumbling.
  • Singers – Looking for soprano/mezzo-soprano and tenor/baritenor/baritone. Come ready with 16 bars (approx. 30-45 seconds) of 2 pop songs or 1 pop and another of a different genre, a capella only.
  • Performers must possess the most superior skills for positions listed above as determined by the casting team and meet appropriate physical requirements to fit costumes. 
  • Entertainment runs from March 24 through Jan 1.
  • Performers must have transportation and not rely on public transit.

  • Please enter through the employee entrance and report to the Showcase Theatre. 
  • Anyone auditioning must be at least 16 years old. 
  • This is a closed audition. No spectators will be permitted. 

 

Tips for Talent:

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled audition time to complete audition card.
  • Please bring a recent headshot and resume with current contact information.
  • Please know your (ladies) bust/hips/waist size, tights, shoe size; (gentlemen) inseam, waist, fitted shirt, jacket and shoe size.
  • Please review the audition material requirements and come prepared.
  • Please review the age, availability, transportation, and skill set requirements before auditioning. You will not be considered for a role if you do not meet the requirements listed in the casting notice.
  • Please confirm that the pay rate is acceptable before attending an audition. Pay rates are not negotiable.
  • Please do not email or call us after your audition. A Six Flags talent representative will call you within 2 to 3 weeks if you are cast.

 

Entertainment Support Positions Available

  • Technicians: Work behind the scenes to bring our shows to life.  Lighting and audio experience in community or college theater a plus.  Positions start from $9.00/hr.
  • Theater Greeters: Show your energy and people skills as you welcome guests, uphold venue rules and warm the crowds before our exciting stage shows. $8.60/hr.
