  1. Ideally, if the LTSP/Safari Kids area is going to be home to a new coaster, it would be great to see the rides relocated to the lakefront area between BBNP and Joker. That would really spruce things up and mean the kids stuff is all centrally located again. The setting under the trees back there would be nice for the kids stuff. That would really open the area for a new coaster and redevelopment. The park could really use a big new coaster as well as an updated kids area, and this would fix both.
  2. Nope, no AC. Some have ceiling fans but they don't do much, so they purchased fans for the shops which are behind the registers but still visible to guests.
  3. We did the preview of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge the other day, and it surpassed my expectations overall, but it felt lacking in life to me. The best parts were the things that specifically related to the original three movies. I'll be posting a more detailed trip report soon, but here's a couple of the "low lights" where it just didn't feel like a billion dollar expansion to a theme park. Apparently it was designed in California by people with no idea how hot and humid it gets in Florida, so (just like Toy Story Land) there is no shade and they've had to add umbrellas, and no water fountains so they had to put Igloo coolers with paper cone cups to give people something to drink. The shops have no air movement, so the cast members had to bring in fans. The "food" props in the restaurants all look very plastic.
  4. Wow, they must have got a huge discount on water park equipment.

  6. Looks a lot like a hybrid of SeaWorld San Diego and SeaWorld Orlando's rapids rides.
  7. Just remember, this "rumor" has been going around in circles for a year now. After a while everyone forgets where it started and no one knows how valid it is. When any 12 year old can make a video that says "ZOMG teh Dippin DOts guy says we're getting a raptor, and three people said it was true" doesn't make it any more true.
  8. Wow, this looks exciting: Largest theme park investment in Universal's history!
  9. Don't get too excited. It doesn't say what the record is. Wonder Woman is billed as a World Record ride (it's the same size as the others Six Flags built).
  10. From today's media update for August: "2020 New Attraction Announcement – August 29 Stay tuned as Six Flags Great Adventure announces its highly-anticipated new attraction for 2020. After months of rumor and speculation, the legendary and monstrous details will be revealed at 5 a.m. via its website and social media. The world record-breaking project is slated to open next summer." So: Legendary Monstrous World record-breaking
  11. Next Thursday, August 1st, Universal will be making a BIG announcement from the Orange County Convention Center at 10:00 AM. Speculation is they will be announcing the new theme park and unveiling their plans for the next four years. The new them park is expected to open in 2023, and will be the first new theme park to open in the US in quite a while.
  12. Having the Safari gives the park HUGE tax benefits. It's not going anywhere unless those tax benefits are.
  13. Wow, only 210' and 4,600'+. Much smaller than I would have guessed. I don't think that will even be the tallest or fastest in PA. I know not every coaster can be a record breaker, and Mako (which has similar stats) is a great coaster, but it seems like they would have just gone a bit bigger to outdo Nitro. It's (much like Mako) a little brother to Nitro.
  14. I find it interesting that after the initial two RMC Raptors, no other park has decided to install them the next season. Much like the Sky Warp, they look neat but didn't perform up to expectations.
  15. Looks like fun, but would be a better fit in one of the smaller parks where space is at a premium and they don't need the higher capacity that GA does.
  16. That really sounds like BGW's coaster from the description, and while it's possible that both parks are getting similar things, I doubt it. Universal's INTAMIN coaster parts have been arriving for a while now:
  17. Dubai has little to no bearing on the other Six Flags parks since it was a licensing deal, unless the company who was building the park had already ordered rides (doubtful). Darrien Lake and Frontier City a both being run by Six Flags but are not owned by Six Flags, so they have different financial arrangements and obligations. I would guess they will be seeing more "off the shelf" additions.
  18. Yes, and they are open 365 days a year, so people will come to ride it whenever it's open.
  19. Yeah, I thought that too, just with fancy tops on them
  20. It felt longer than Chiller, and the vertical loop was a lot more comfortable than the cobra roll or twists on Chiller, even with the horse collars.
  21. Seeing it, it really is a new version of Matterhorn/Space Mountain, with short stretch of track, block brake, short stretch of track, block brake, short stretch of track, block brake...
  22. Interesting idea. It was a good ride-- I thought it was better than Chiller.
