  1.  With everyone talking about how much the kids areas have been neglected I thought this would be perfect.

There are a few new tiny woodies out there for the kiddies. I was lucky enough to try one on my way to Lake Compounce for Boulderdash last year.

Wooden warrior  is at Quassey in Connecticut it’s  only 35 feet tall and is an amazing little ride nonetheless. From the first drop to the last turn it does not relent or disappoint. The first drop has awesome floating airtime. The tiny airtime hills are amazing. Almost mini ejector.

I could go on and on but it’s not necessary just click on the link and scroll down to watch the video, you’ll really get the sense of just how good the air time is when they do the reverse POV towards the end.

I couldn’t find a price for wooden warrior but I imagine it can’t be too much because it’s so tiny and short.  I personally observed some very young children overcoming their fears on that ride, seeing them change from fear to glee was an awesome thing to see!

  2. You can’t go wrong with a hotel at the park. I always love staying at parks whenever I can. Kings Dominion probably has the best set up at the edge of their parking lot with a best Western and a 24 hour Denny’s attached. the pool area stays open till midnight so you can still swim after the park closes late during the summer.

Carowinds had a good hotel right across the street still within easy walking distance.

And of course on the water at Cedar point I think it’s called the Breakers was ridiculously awesome!

It’ll just turn into more money for them money from the lodging costs and money from longer stays and repeated visits I would always last longer for multi-day trips when I stayed on premises come home for rest go back out for the night time. Spend more money.

I would always opt to stay within walking distance of any park. that would make a day trip turn into two or three days minimum definitely including mid week.

“If you build it they will come...”

  4. 135 including 3 alpine coasters

I was 42 in 2012 and had 43 coasters under my belt by the end of that season I was at 101.  The craziness started for me when I visited Busch Gardens for the first time and skipped alpengeist because the line was so long.  I wanted to hang out with my wife and be a good husband. I assumed it would be like Batman the ride what a mistake!  When I got home and did a little research and realized I had missed  the very best invert in existence ( at that time )  I got a bug up my ass and started checking out new parks.  Only after returning to Busch Gardens of course to enjoy the best invert I have ever been on!

I got so many new credits just by visiting a bunch of new to me parks all within  driving range of the DC area where I was living at the time. Plus a nice road trip to Cedar point with a stop off at Kennywood of course.

     That year I visited

    Virginia kings dominion busch gardens

    marland Six Flags America

Pennsylvania parks knoebles dorney  waldameer kennywood Hersheypark

    Ohio cedar point

jersey steel pier in AC  morey’s piers also got a bunch at GA because I hadn’t been in a while

I think Six Flags New England Hersheypark and Carolinas carowinds came the next year.

Don’t miss out on alpine coasters.  It is awesome to be able to control your speed and not have to worry about flying off because they have up stop roller coaster wheels and seatbelts. They are going in all over the place all different kinds of ski resorts have them now operating year-round.  Closest one might be Camelback which happens to be my favorite of the three I have done.

Do we know if this ride would be open for Holiday in the Park? It is on the side of the park that stays open for HITP, so I’m assuming yes.

I sure hope so that is my absolute favorite time of year to go.

I am very pleasantly surprised to see great adventure being ahead of the curve again with something new and modern and bigger and better than anyone else, it feels like the good old days!

Honestly I would rather have a giga or an I box like steel vengeance, but not complaining. These Raptors seem incredibly dynamic, it looks like it’s going to be an absolutely fantastic ride!

Let’s all just pray it’s designed to run in the cold weather so we can enjoy it a Xmas time.

A little surprised they didn’t consider a 95 degree first  drop like on Maverick...
