Chiller 5
This ride will make Superman look even shorter.
ThemeParkRider 9
Well, maybe thats a good thing. I remember not going on Superman because it looked to intimidating. It only took me 3 times to actually enjoy the coaster!
CHILLERLC1 0
GASM used to be my intimidator. This was back in the days when Batman was the only B&M at our park.
gafreak 24
I SEE YELLOW TRACK IN PLACE!
CHILLERLC1 0
It looked like the yellow lead into the second corkscrew could have been installed or it was leaning near that position it would go in.
Justin 0
They put in about five pieces of track in today!!
CHILLERLC1 0
The turnaround is almost done. I don't care now if they switch the camera now over to the inclined loop and the MCBR. Perhaps later I will care about the two corkscrews being installed. It seems logical that section goes in later.
Railer 48
They are at the inclined loop now, and they did move the view of the "cam" over. You can't see the first drop and loop at all now.
The Master 147
Can anyone tell if they are keeping GASM's old floodlights?
Railer 48
I would assume that the old light's might interfere with the themeing, and they would probably get some light's that are more energy efficient. I know I would love to see light's on a coaster Train, but doubt it's happeneing.
GAcoaster 368
Can anyone tell if they are keeping GASM's old floodlights? The lights were actually removed as one of the first parts of the site preparations. They weren't placed properly for the new layout.
The Master 147
The lights were actually removed as one of the first parts of the site preparations. They weren't placed properly for the new layout. That's a shame, I kind of doubt they will install new floods for GL. Superman also used to share some floods with GASM. Railer 48
It looks like some sort of little building is going up in the area of the second Corkscrew. Maybe themeing, maybe on-ride photo shop, time will tell.
CHILLERLC1 0
That's a common area between the two corkscrews. Maybe it'll be a photo hut. The Chang entrance used to be right through that area at SFKK. I wouldn't want to be assigned to work there in that photo hut unless I got earplugs. I could see it as being a two sided theming device as well if they're going to put up a big statue of this bad guy. Is a piece of track green and gray leading up to that yellow piece of the corkscrew? Edited March 15, 2011 by CHILLERLC1
gafreak 24
the gray part of the track is primered so they can fade yellow to green
GAcoaster 368
I don't know if anyone who got the newsletter noticed, but we added additional photos from the Green Lantern site on the Winter Tour page. Here's a couple of samples: Queue building: Workers painting the steel structure: Car shed: At this point they were assembling the top of the loop on the ground. They put it in place the next day: The yellow corkscrews will be going here:

Railer 48
Can't wait to see what they do with it for the "Green lantern". I am hoping for just the Green Lantern Symbol backlit. I don't want the ride logo anywhere on the sign.
CoasterPrince 0
I'm hoping for green LED lights in that queue house and station.
Toroman 0
Well the inclined loop just got topped off and it looks like construction off the station building has started.
rcji 3
Hopefully the "got 2b glue" ads don't come back
CHILLERLC1 0
That's interesting in that winter update to see support pieces that have the flat face plates to meet with the track and then which ones have the ball sockets that will mate up with the track and help with the transitions of the train. I've only seen the pics of the closed clamps of the track over those ball sockets. I just never really thought about the ball sockets because I don't get to see too many B&M assembly pictures rather than the everyday in operation pics. Will the front entry plaza be enclosed? Will the queue line concrete there be painted? There may be some signs of the old GASM queue guide rails cut off at the floor level? Chiller 5
Hopefully the "got 2b glue" ads don't come back I'd hope the wouldn't do something like that for a new ride.
GAcoaster 368
Our friend Flyin' Phil did a flyover last weekend. Check out his pictures on his blog!
Railer 48
Glad you mentioned that, he took some great shot's. The track where the tunnels will be are in place, and it is definetly the on-ride photo stand. That area of the exit will be really good with the corkscrew going over it.
