'Survivor Live' coming to Six Flags America

The Baltimore SunFebruary 23, 2011

John-John Williams IV reports on a new way to get your Survivor fix:

“Survivor,” the long-running reality television show, is coming to Six Flags America as an interactive stage show. “Survivor Live” will debut at the amusement park May 27 and run through the summer. Performances will be held in the park’s Grand Theater and are included with admission.

The 30-minute production, which will feature music, choreography, elaborate set designs and costumes, will also include stage actors and clips from the hit show. Four audience members will be chosen at random to participate in the adventure and will be required to complete a series of challenges. At the end of the show, the remaining contestant will be named “the ultimate Survivor.” Winning contestants will receive prizes and will be eligible to attend the television show’s season finale.

John Winkler, president of Six Flags America said he was thrilled to bring the production to the park.

“We expect the show to be a big hit with our park guests this summer as they have fun participating in this unique and challenging production,” he said in a statement.

“Survivor Live” will run Thursdays through Tuesdays, May 27-Aug. 21, as well as Aug. 27-28 and Sept. 3-5 at Six Flags America, 13710 Central Ave., Bowie.

Those theme park reality shows are boring! The only ones that have fun are the couple of people actually participating. It seems like yet another attempt to produce a show that teenagers will like. Teenagers don't go to parks to watch shows, they go to ride rides. Make shows that adults will enjoy so they will have something to do at the parks.

I have to agree. the show is best for the ones that perform. I do know there is more of a show eliment to the Survivor show then in more reality show nock offs.
