Six Flags Delivers Record Results in 2012

Jackson, NJ — February 20, 2013 — On the heels of an extremely successful 2012 season, the Six Flags Great Adventure Properties are gearing up for a monumental year in 2013. Today, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the parent company of Six Flags Great Adventure, Safari and Hurricane Harbor, announced record financial results for 2012, reporting $1.1 billion of annual revenue and $383 million of Adjusted EBITDA1 in 2012 – the highest in the company’s history.

“We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming season,” said John Fitzgerald, park president. “With guest satisfaction at an all-time high, we are poised to deliver an even ‘bigger’ experience in 2013. Innovation is a critical component to our success, and we are thrilled to unveil a truly unique and innovative attraction.”

The merger of the Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari parks creates the world’s largest theme park. The 510-acre theme park will debut the highly-anticipated Safari Off-Road Adventure for Memorial Day weekend. The new attraction will take explorers on the most intense, up-close animal experience that they can find anywhere. Rugged, all-terrain vehicles will drive guests off-road and up close to the animals as they climb hills, cross bridges and splash through ponds.

The attraction will also introduce guests to the new Camp Aventura, which will feature a closer look at smaller exotic animals and offer guests an opportunity to hand-feed or pet some of them. Here, visitors can choose to fly through the air high above the animals on a new, two-seater zip line for an additional fee.

Safari Off-Road Adventure is included with general theme park admission and Season Passes, and will be accessible via the Frontier Adventures section.

Next door at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park, water-thrill seekers will challenge a massive, new slide complex this summer ─ Big Wave Racer. This six-lane, four-story slide tower will send riders barreling head-first on aerodynamically-designed water toboggans as they race each other to the finish line.

“All parks are accessible with our affordably-priced Premium Season Pass,” Fitzgerald said, now for nine payments of $9.45 per month, “which is great value for all.” The Premium Season Pass includes unlimited access to the New Jersey theme and water parks, as well as all Six Flags Theme Parks across the country.

The Six Flags Great Adventure Properties recently launched a hiring spree to staff the 4,000 seasonal positions required to operate the world’s largest theme park which includes the 350-acre safari, and its adjacent water park, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Applications are being accepted online at sixflagsjobs.com.

Six Flags Great Adventure will kick off its fortieth season March 23 with a benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy relief in partnership with MTV, mtvU and United Way.
