Ball Crawl

Recommended Posts

One of the less pleasant jobs working the Ball Crawl was having to wash the balls if a child had "an accident" in the pit. The attraction would close and we would use the nearby firehouse to clean the balls. It sort of looked like a big popcorn popper with the high pressure wash.

Yeah, I remember that there would often be wet spots in the balls where kids just decided to pee and the pit usually smelled like urine on hot days.

I used to play in there as a little kid, I don't recall it smelling like pee but I don't doubt it happened many times. I am going to need to take a extra long shower now.

Since the edit isn't working, I wanted to add that I remember taking my shoes off to put into those white tubes and waiting on the little ramp with other kids waiting for our turn. Every so often a bad kid would start throwing balls at other kids and would cause a premature end to the current session, and the offender would not be allowed back in again. Sadly fights were uncommon in Bugs Bunny Land.

These were fun,but if I would have know that I was playing in a germ pit I dont think I would have done it. There is a reason why you dont see very many of these anymore.
