Creepy Great Adventure Clown in Mall

Recommended Posts

The photos below were part of a roll of film from a Great Adventure photographer from the late '70s or early '80s. Anyone know why there is a creepy Great Adventure clown in the middle of a huge bed in the center of a shopping mall? I wonder what this event was promoting.

At the entrance to the walkway, their is a sign that probably explains what is going on. Sadly the photos only show the backside so we can't read it. Also why does the clown have a receptionist in front of the bed? Looks like some sort of TV is on her desk that the clown is watching? Maybe she is brainwashing the creepy clown? There are also 3 other chairs there for some reason.

Not sure if this is any help to you, but I believe the mall where the photo was taken is the now long defunct Seaview Square Mall in Ocean Township.

Just a whole lot of weird going on in that mall that day. Other things I have noticed are that the woman at the desk has some sort of ear piece. Drapped over the one side of the bed looks like a big IV bag.

I noticed that too...I'd make a bet it was some sort of radio promotion and if that is Seaview Square (which I think it is) it was probably with WJRZ since they used to broadcast out of Asbury Park.
