Six Flags Great Adventure Announces Park Opening and April Events

Opening Weekend – April 6 & 7

Winter has come to an end and Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari is ready to open its gates April 6 and 7. Thrill seekers can challenge rides such as Kingda Ka, Zumanjoro: Drop of Doom, El Toro, JUSTICE LEAGUE Battle for Metropolis and more. Fans can dive into the 2019 season by visiting the park’s animal attractions, meeting their favorite characters and sampling some of the park’s signature foods. The best way for thrill seekers to enjoy the park is with a Membership or Season Pass. Both programs offer exclusive benefits including private events, discounts on food and merchandise, Preferred Parking and more.

Opening later this spring is WONDER WOMAN Lasso of Truth, the world’s tallest pendulum ride. Towering at a staggering 17 stories tall, this jaw-dropping, spinning disk will reach speeds up to 75 miles-per-hour as it spins and swings to breathtaking heights.

Exclusive Education Day – April 12

Students will experience an exclusive education day April 12. The Safari will open at 9 a.m. The Exclusive Education Day allows students to observe classroom principles at work in real-life settings from the Six Flags staff who work in the field each and every day. If any individual cannot make this day, they can participate in the Outdoor Classroom Days, scheduled for May 3, 10, and 17 or the alternative Education Day May 22.

·         Spring Physics Day – Students will be able to see and feel the principles of physics first hand. Students can participate in various activities throughout the day helping them get excited about pursuing careers in the science field. Pre-registration may be required for activities.

·         Middle School STEM Day – The STEM event is geared toward middle school students. Students will work on STEM activities during a private event for students only. There is also a new middle school STEM workbook with park activities. Students can download the new, free workbook here: https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/special-events/educational-event/middle-school-stem-day

·         Biology Day – Biology students will tour wildlife preserves with experienced guides leading the way. The program is geared for both high school and middle school biology and life science. Students will have the opportunity to interact with 1,200 animals from six continents in the 350-acre wildlife preserve. Not only will students be able to observe the Safari’s various species, they will be able to put their skills to the test by working on the Biology Day workbook. The workbook, created by Anastasia Wheeler, certified NJ state science teacher and Six Flags Safari Programs supervisor, will test the knowledge of students through fill-in-the-blank, multiple choice, and open-ended questions.

Six Flags Great Adventure welcomes individuals searching for a fun and rewarding job opportunity with tons of great perks. Applicants can explore positions in ride operations, food service, guest services, retail, Safari, security, lifeguarding and more. Press releases directly from the park are going to be more accurate than anything from an external source. I wouldn't rely on NJ.com in this case.

EDIT: Looks like they fixed the article:

The park is scheduled to open for the 2019 season this Saturday, though the new “Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth,” will open later, sometime in late May.
