It must have really cool being able to look thru the park's Collection of Pictures and Memoribilia. Were there any item's that really "blew you away"? I know you mentioned Model's of some of the Coaster's, do they have that sort of thing on Display or are they just in storage somewhere?

I know some of the models they had were sold off at the auction in the late 80's (they had 3 or 4 Ultra Twister models there, one of which appeared to be a WORKING model). I believe most of the others are gone since they were big and unwieldy. The only one I know survives is the model of GASM that's out at SFMM in their museum at the top of the Sky Tower.

There were a bunch of really cool renderings, some of which made it into the book. The others may be showing up at some time in the future...

Does the Park have an "Archives" Dept. where they keep all the stuff from the past, or is it just Employee's that have held on to some stuff over the years?

The Public Relations and Marketing departments have a decent collection of stuff, but there's no real "archive".

Wow, that's great! I'm glad to see that you're making a book since you know so much about our park. I will buy it.

I would of been like Indiana Jones when he went into the Room where they keep the Ark Stored (Area 51) I wish they would sort of do a Mueseum somewhere in the Park. Maybe if the Book does really well, we will see something like that someday.

With tens of thousands of pictures, getting it down to about 225 was one of the hardest parts of writing the book! We had so much we wanted to include but a limited number of pages to do it. Although we weren't able to use your great shot of the Super Sidewinder, the ride did make the cut. It is in a photo that also includes the "Lil Thunder" roller coaster.

I've always liked seeing old park pictures. By the way, does anyone know where in Great Adventure this is?

Does anyone remember this park entrance from 1974 and 1975?

For some reason I recall vividly lining up on my very first and going through it in 1974, keeping to the left, and then heading down the incline and wrappinig around past the Bandstand on the Lake to hit the Log Flume first.

For years later, before I was really into the park and could figure some things out, I always wondered how we managed to get through the gate and get to the Log Flume so quickly. At the point, I hadn't realized they relocated the entrance!
