A clock has been added to the Six Flags Great Adventure web site to countdown to the premiere of the Glow in the Park parade on May 26th.

This is the next thing to look forward to for us. We won't be there for opening weekend, but will be there for the coaster celebration on the 31st so we will be looking forward to seeing it that night camera in hand smile.gif

This was far beyond all my expectations! Well done Six Flags! This is the caliber of one of the Orlando theme parks.

I'll have pictures and possibly some video up this weekend... smile.gif

Wow!!! I am so happy Six Flags selected Great Adventure to receive this parade !!! I can't believe something like this is in our own backyards! Outstanding !!! smile.gif Dust off the "It's a Whole New Adventure" advertising slogan because it surely applies to the new Six Flags Great Adventure !!! clap.gif

I take it the park invited you guys to watch a practice run? From what location along the parade route did you watch it from? And after seeing it, what would be a good spot to watch it when the park is open?

You guys are making me so jealous knowing that I'm not getting to the park until next weekend to watch it. But from the sounds of it I will not dissapointed. I can't wait to check this out. Any suggestions on a good place to take it in from when it goes on?

Yesterday's sneak preview was open to the public but in answer to your question... wink.gif !

Excellent viewing areas are available all along the parade route. I would prefer picking a location which normally features a lot of lights because when they are turned off for the parade, it makes it that much more interesting. Seeing Dream Steet and the Carousel pitch black is really unusual.

We watched the parade in Fantasy Forest and then bolted over to the Boardwalk area to catch up with it again.

I wish I would of known they were doing a sneak preview last night, I would have rather seen it on a Fri. than being in the park on a Sat. because of the crowd's. I'm a park veteran, I should of known, it's not the first time they have done a sneak peek of something a day early. Thank's for the info. Yum Yum Palace is where I'll be tonite.

I've seen it twice (well actually 4 times in 2 days) and I'm still blown away by it!

BRAVO SIX FLAGS!!!

For those interested in seeing the parade twice, the entire procession cuts across the outer entrance mall from the gates near Superman (the finish line of the parade) over to the Old Country Picnic Pavillion gate where it returns back to it's home staging area back behind the Batman Stunt Arena. It is a condensed and speedy version of the parade in an effort to get back home quickly but still entertaining!

Also as seen below, after the park closes for the night the chain-gang vehicle travels down the parade route gathering up the mile of yellow chain.

Its so cool that the fact you can't see the people driving the floats, though if you look closely enough in the floats, you see them dressed in black driving them.

The performers on the opening float varied this weekend. The same thing probably happened for the costumed characters but we may never know! smile.gif

I am now profusely counting down the days until saturday to check out what is being hailed as an amazing addition to the park. Only what like 5 days to go for me now smile.gif. I'm trying not to look at too many photos so that everything is as new to me as possible!
