This year's HHN was alot better than it has been in recent years. All the haunted houses were good, no duds this year. The crowds were down, at least the night I went this year and there didn't seem to be as many drunks. Maybe because it was the coolest night I have ever been to HHN? The lines were shorter, no half hour express pass lines like last year. I was even able to do all the houses once before the crowds forced me to use my express pass so I got to do all of them twice. It's been years since I was able to do all the houses more than once. Some of the Scare Zones were weak such as 7 and Nightmaze. As I said all the Houses were good but the top 3 are Winter's Night, H.R. BLOODeNGUTZ, and Nightingales. The next night I did Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and it was the more crowded than I ever seen it before, and was also the coolest I have been to with unusually cool temps in FL.

30 minute express pass lines in past years? I guess the standby lines those years were horrible.

HHN was phenomenal this year with the exception of The Thing which was by far one of the weakest houses scare wise I have ever been in.Set wise it stood up to the best like Nightingales and Winters Night but honestly Universal just needs to stop The Thing as houses,it wasn't good in 2007 it wasn't good in 2011...

I agree that The Thing was the weakest haunted house this year but even that one I thought was far from being a dud. Sadly HHN can be very crowded, much more crowded than during the day. Also they usually do not have all the normal rides open, this year only five rides are open during HHN, Mummy, Rock It, Jaws, MIB, and ugg The Simpsons. Last year I had to wait 30 min in the Express pass line for some of the houses, stand by lines were about two hours. This year I didn't have to wait even 20 min in the normal stand by lines. I think alot of it had to do with the weather, it was unusually cool that day and it looked like it was going to rain during the early part of the day. Then it cleared off but a strong cool breeze kicked up and lasted all night. HHNs are normally pretty warm.

I went opening weekend and it was actually pretty busy for it raining/looking like it was going to rain both nights.Set wise the Thing did not let down, just scare factor wasn't there at all and something else with an original concept could have been put there instead like a Lady Luck type of house

I was surprised they didn't have a house themed after her. HHN mascots almost always have a house themed after them.
