HBO Beer Garden at Six Flags Great Adventure

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 | Posted by Jackson, NJ

According to a public noticed published today, the Main Street Pub at Six Flags Great Adventure will be known as the HBO Beer Garden as the park seeks to transfer its existing liquor license in the park’s only alcohol point of sale stand in the park to the new name.

Take Notice that the application has been made to the Township Council of Jackson Township, 95 West Veterans Highway, Municipal Building, Jackson, New Jersey to transfer location of consumption to Main Street Pub, 1 Six Flags Blvd, PO Box 120, Six Flags Great Adventure Jackson NJ 08527 Consumption License No. 1511-33-004-009, Heretofore issued to HBO Beer Garden, 1 Six Flags Blvd, PO Box 120, Six Flags Great Adventure Jackson NJ 08527.  Objections, if any, should be made immediately in writing to: Ann Marie Eden, Township Clerk, Jackson Township, 95 West Veterans Highway, Municipal Building, Jackson New Jersey 08527.

I saw that and I have a feeling there is some confusion here on the part of J-Town. It seemed like they're just transferring the license which probably has the HBO name on it. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like an unnecessary expense to license the HBO name from Warner again.

I know most liquor licenses have names on them that have NOTHING to do with the actual name of the place that it served. When I worked at a place named Gatsby's the license was listed as Wok-N-Roll even though it was a long gone business.

The whole thing seems a little odd since both the Pub and HBO Backlot served beer concurrently unless there's something special about this one (maybe a FULL license for hard liquor?)

That's why I'm thinking this may be a full liquor license and not just for beer. They have had beer licenses all over the park. I have a feeling they're trying a full bar (like Universal and Busch have in their parks).

I've often wondered why they haven't done an adults only area at Hurricane Harbor with swim up bar like some waterparks have done.
