As the title says, Hershey's new coaster, Skyrush is should be opening this weekend. I heard they are not going to have a media day for Skyrush's opening.
Skyrush opening this weekend, May 26th.

The media day was last night, I saw some pictures of the queue and I was very surprised there are only 8 rows of switchbacks in the queue and then it goes to the stairs for the station, I can see an overflow queue being used a lot this year.
I'm hoping to get to Hershey this year, I just need to find a day when the park is empty so I can ride Skyrush without much of a wait, maybe a Friday or Sunday in October?

I can't wait to ride this! I've seen off ride videos of the ride, and it looks like a lot of "air time fun."

I was reading reports on other sites and it sounds like it is typical Hershey operations on Skyrush. 3 - 4 minute dispatches and lots of empty seats on each train. The ride could have used a single rider line but I remember reading they closed Fahrenheit's single rider line because they got complaints it was "unfair." I also think they should have had separate loading gates for the winged and non winged seats which is probably part of the reason so many seats are going out empty.

I was at Hershey today (5/31/12)and they were filling all the seats. They have one stairway for the front row and a second for all the other rows, something Nitro should have. I was able to ride Skyrush once at closing and I thought it was pretty disappointing, my main problem with it is that the lap bars are poorly designed and painful and takes all the fun out of the coaster. Until they R&D better lap bars I won't be riding Skyrush again anytime soon, a shame really. Super Dooper Looper's new trains are nice though, a much better ride that Skyrush.

Nitro's line is really outdated. Nobody every follows the signs up the stair case ("stay right =all other rows stay/ left=front") The two line system might be confusing for most guest but will definitely make more room in the station where, guests do not have to wait for other lines to dwindle down so they can go to the row they want.

It not just outdated, it was poorly designed in the first place. The lane thing never works, people are just too stupid.
