Six Flags America & Hershey Park

24 March 2013 - 11:20 AM

So for my little vacation with the family, we are going to stay in Baltimore and go to SFA on Thursday. The next day, we are getting up early to go to Hershey park for the day. I'm so excited!

Does anybody have any suggestions for Hershey? This is my first time going to Hershey (I know it's sad). haha

I'm so happy cause SF employees can go to all the SF theme parks for free, as well as, Dorney and Hershey park.

WANTED: Park Maps/Collector Maps

Does anybody have park maps from the 90's-2005? I'm specifically looking for the 1998 park map. I'm willing to pay cash.

Rob and Shelby's Trip Report 7/16/12

16 July 2012 - 11:22 PM

Today, Shelby and I decided to make a trip to Six flags together! We finally got to hang out before we had to work. Anyways, we got to the park around 10:40. We made our way over to the entrance and over to Skull Mountain (Yeah today was a very "Skully" Day). We rode so many times, I lost count past 20. Skull was fun as always! I wish they'd bring back the on-ride photo again. It would be awesome to take away a little something from Skull Mountain. :) After the cave, we went to LOONEY TUNES SEAPORT! It was a blast from the past. I missed this place so much! We went on PePe Le Pew's Hearts Aweigh, Daffy's Deep Diver, Road Runner Railway, and Safari Tours! After being on these kid's rides, we went over to grab some food at Granny's Chicken and Panda Express. It was pretty good! I had Chinese while Shelby had fried chicken. After we ate, we went on Batman: The Ride! This is my favorite ride in the park, and I hope to be trained there soon! The Dark Knight was after. It was the same old Dark Knight with the new effects. My friend, (the Supervisor of TDK) told me that people have been stealing the Joker Card props around the station. Its a shame that these new props have been taken. After this mouse trap was Nitro. We rode twice with a ten minute wait. After Nitro was...SURPRISE! Skull Mountain. We basically rode Skull until we had to leave for work around 3:30. Overall, it was a really awesome day!

Photo Trip Report 7/5/12: The Amazing SpiderMan & Coney Island

05 July 2012 - 08:49 PM

It was a very good day! I had the chance to watch the new SpiderMan movie and visit Coney Island. I left my grandma's house at 2:30 to make the 2:50 showtime. I really enjoyed the movie as a whole. Even the previews for the movie were exciting (TDKR, Bourne Legacy, etc.). By the way, is anyone doing the Batman marathon leading up to the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises? I already bought my tickets. Its only $25 if anybody is interested. Anyway, onto the movie! I'm not going to reveal much about the story, but its very similar to the original. Although, there are some "dramatic" changes to the story. I'll let you find them on your own. The whole new Spidy character, played by Andrew Garfield, is one of those major changes. To be honest, I like this guy better than Tobey Miguire. In the original movie, Tobey was just too awkward for me. He had no emotion as Parker and as SpiderMan. Andrew plays that awkward high school student (its very apparent in the movie) even when he transforms into SpiderMan. Andrew HAS emotion and character and I loved every bit of his acting. I give the movie an overall rating of 8/10 for being that awesome Superhero movie. Just like it's fellow Marvel character movies(Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers, etc.), it doesn't compare to the strength of the DC Universe movies, specifically, Nolan's interpretation of Batman. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises are all good reasons why DC does it better than Marvel. Nolan brings this sort of sophistication to his movies. Its not just violence and mayhem, his stories have a further meaning that makes Batman larger than life. Nothing will beat this Batman series, no matter how hard Marvel tries. That's just my opinion. Of course it doesn't help that I love Batman. lol

Onto the Coney Island "trip"! It wasn't really a trip since I was only there for about 20 minutes. lol We drive down several blocks to Coney Island after the movie. We bought our $8 tickets to ride this 85 year old classic. Once we were in the station I waited for the next ride. Being the ride operating geek that I am, I watched them load and unload the train. Lets just say, I feel so much safer at Six Flags. lol Anyways, the ride itself was fun! It was quite bumpy, but I enjoyed it none the less. :P I can't wait to ride again, and I hope to ride that Scream'in Eagle next time!

Total Roller Coasters Ridden: 26

Yep. Another Trip Report.

28 June 2012 - 09:25 PM

I visited the park with my family today! (Yeah I'm basically at the park 24/7) Anyways, I got to the park around 2 pm. We started at Movietown last visit, so we made our way over to Frontier Adventures. Bizarro was number 1 (Get it? Number 1?) on our list. It should have taken us only 5 minutes to get on and off, but the dispatchers were going really slow, so it took us at least 15 minutes to get on  and off. After Bizarro, El Toro was next on our list. We sat in the very back row with only a five minute wait. We then skipped my section and went over to the Lakefront/Movietown. Skull Mountain was next on our list. Surprisingly, Skull Mountain had a five minute wait. Usually, I'd get on and off. Anyways, Nitro was next. Nitro had the longest wait of 30 minutes. It was a pretty good ride, although it was a little rougher than usual. This was the first time I had a rough ride on Nitro. Maybe it was the train? After Nitro came Batman: The Ride. There was no wait and we got on in the second row. The only issue I have with the ride now is that I believe they modified the brakes at the end. Its much more forceful now. Has anybody noticed this? After Batman came the Dark Knight. I wanted some A/C before going out again, but the A/C was broken! It was hotter than ever in the pre-show room. The only flat ride of the day, Houdini's Great Escape, came after TDK. It took forever for the ride to start with guests not following directions and leaving souvenir cups on with them. That took about 15 minutes, and then we went over to the one and only, Green Lantern. We rode twice without a wait (Nobody ever goes on Green Lantern on quite days like today). I hate saying this about my baby, but the ride is slowly getting worse and worse. Its getting to a point where the coaster is too painful to ride. Our final ride of the day was Superman: Ultimate Flight. We had a five minute wait. Superman was the same old Superman, nothing new to report. Unfortunately, the end of the day came and I had to leave with my family around 7 pm (If I had my car I'd stay till 9). It was an awesome "SIX FLAGS" day, but it was so hot!

Best line of the day: "GO HOME ROB! You're here all the time! Enjoy your day off! Go have fun!" (Speakers: All of my supervisors/team members) lol
Me: "This is fun!" ;)
