In Topic: A new Fright Fest idea

I like the idea, it would be a lot of fun and higher capacity than a typical Fright Fest attraction so hopefully lines wouldn't be too bad.

I don't think it will be overly crowded since a lot of people have other things planned that day like BBQs. I went on Labor Day in 2004 and it was empty, then again in 2007 and it was crowded (but not jammed). The crowds seem hard to predict at Hershey. My last trip was on a Sunday in October, it was sunny and 75 out and admission was under $30 since it was Hersheypark In The Dark. I would have thought it would be hour plus lines for everything but nothing except Fahrenheit was more than 10 minutes.

I sugeest going to Fahrenheit then going to Wildcat and Lightning Racers which should be walk ons. Then go to Storm Runner and Sidewinder

Save Comet and sooperdooperlooper and Skyrush towards later in the day as everyone goes to that area at opening. The reason I say to go to Fahrenheit at opening is because it has horrible capacity and operations at Hershey are generally bad compared to Great Adventure and Dorney. Also I would go to Great Bear later in the day unless you are in that section of the park early in the day when the line isn't too long. Trailblazer shouldn't have much of a line any time of the day unless they are running 1 train.

If you are planning on going to the waterpark then I would not follow that plan and go to the Boardwalk at opening. It is very popular and doesn't have a lot of slides so long lines just to get a tube for the slides are common. Even the wavepool and lazy river can get long lines. I have been there on slow days when the lines for some of the waterslides are 45 minutes. Also the water play structure is a disaster in terms of waiting for the slides in there. There are no formal queues so there is a lot of cutting and people are constantly hitting you with water while waiting in line for those slides. I went to the Boardwalk twice and don't plan to waste my time there anymore.

I can't believe how many buses there are in the lot compared to last Friday. That picture of the crowd waiting to get in was not what I was expecting to see. I had been planning on going today but wasn't able to get there and after seeing those pictures, I don't feel so bad about not going to the park since it looks like lines would have bene horrible.

I want to get to California eventually and Knott's is one of the parks that I would plan to go to along with both Disneyland parks.

I really don't like the bag checks. They did it on opening day Friday when I was there. One time of the day did you get to Dorney? Maybe it is like with the Haunt and they only perform bag checks during the evening?

I got there around 5:00
