Great Adventure Souvenir Book
1976 Season
Cover with the great 1970's font and clothes
Complete with map of the park including the brand new park entrance moved to the center where it still exists today. As part of moving the Front Gate, the Antique Cars were removed and though they are pictured under the Log Flume on the map, they never were moved there.
The book shows the emphasis on the animals, shows, and rides were still nearly equal, in contrast to later when rides became the focus.

In 1976 EVERYTHING was Bicentennial themed, and the parks new Front Gate was no exception. Notice how barren the landscaping is behind the soldier, and how vivid the paint was on the Carousel.
An insert on the souvenir book promoted the Great Safari Club.
Note the arches on the tent building, and how many trees and how much grass was around it.   Also, note the original fountain with its central jets. Interesting to see the balcony on Best of the West originally wrapped completely around the building.
The Skyride cars were originally painted in several colors.   Pictured are a green and a yellow car. Interesting to see the tent "entrance" to the Great Arena where the stage currently stands.
Long before Temple of the Tiger was the McMillan Flying Tiger show. This tiger show was very much a circus type show, complete with the trainer sticking his head in the tiger's mouth.
The dolphin show has been scaled down form its original 10 dolphins to two.
Coupons were included for park discounts.
Here is one of the few promotional pictures of the park's short-lived  Big Fury coaster. This is the park's first Enterprise which was a portable model that was at the park from 1975-77 replaced in the 1979 season with the park model which still exists today.
The Roundup is pictured in its original location and color scheme. The Souvenir Book even included a kids game.
After the Front Gate was moved to the center of the park, Kiddie Kingdom was built in its place.   This area is now the Golden Kingdom. They even included a spot for your photos
The park's pre-Six Flags logo is included.
