Not since 1992 has Six Flags Great Adventure held both an Oktoberfest and a Fright Fest event at the same time.  This year it is happening and the park has really upped their game simultaneously decorating for both.  Oktoberfest is being held in the center of the park behind the fountain for the first time.  The decor and theming added to the area is simple but really impressive, turning that section of the park into a mini Germany with all the sights, smells, tastes, and fun of Oktoberfest.

Not to be outdone, Fright Fest is back again after first being introduced thirty years ago.  The decorations this year are full of surprises.  It is nice to once again see an emphasis on colorful mums, cornstalks, real pumpkins, and the return of park-wide cobwebs.  In addition, plenty of new props and relocated favorites make this year's event feel exciting and new.

Although the entertainment commonly associated with Fright Fest wasn't held today due to shorter hours on Columbus Day, there was still plenty to see, do, and admire.  Please check out the photos!

Mums abound starting as soon as you reach the park.

Security was out front to explain the new bag policy.

The Oktoberfest in the entrance area is a great promo for the event inside.
