Monday - April 5, 2004

In 2004, opening day was on Saturday April 3rd.  A couple of days later a visit to the park proved to be an exclusive experience with attendance limited to only about a half dozen cars due to extreme cold temperatures.  At the parking lot toll booth we were told that the only ride operating was Skull Mountain and that the park would most likely be closing early.  By 1 PM the park did just that but the Safari remained open for several hours more.

Here are the pictures from that cold and chilly day.  It almost looks like the photos would have been taken on a closed winter tour through the park.
