 Six Flags Great Adventure has always been a big supporter of its community, often offering free and discounted admission and special events. In 1991, Great Adventure extended an invitation to the park for the thousands of veterans of Operation Desert Storm and their families, as well as all personnel from the local military bases. The event included a patriotic decorated park and a welcome home parade including area military and local school bands. A rally at noon was held in the Great Arena with military and state officials including the 19th Army Band from Fort Dix and the Civil Air Patrol Devils Drill Team. A fireworks salute to our armed forces capped off all the festivities. |
