  1. Off topic but can we all agree that the Jim Reid Anderson era of Six Flags additions that took place from 2012 - 2020 was absolutely awful? The chain focused on giving parks one addition per year and nothing else (no park improvements on anything) and often times parks with lots of money and were in high income areas class wise were prioritized. With the improvements GAdv has announced as well as the Medusa retheme, it makes me believe that the future of this park is incredibly bright and that the terrible JRA era is long gone.

Interesting that they are updating the kids area in the middle of the season, which makes me wonder what or if they'll be anything for next season. I honestly wouldn't mind having a quiet year since we got JDC, and focus of fixing things up with maybe a show or two.

I have a feeling Six Flags is done with yearly additions for each park but I could be wrong.

Is the park subtly teasing that Bizarro may be rethemed to Medusa again? If so, that’s awesome and would add so much charm to the park.

I would be cool with this but I wouldn't want them to remove the fog/fire effects. Those give the coaster alot of charm already, and besides, this is the only Bizarro themed ride in the chain now since the one in New England was rethemed (same with Green Lantern since the one in California is also gone)

I would put it right where Rolling Thunder was! If it could fit under the same El Toro overpass that RT did, I would have the first drop dive under El Toro, that would be epic! Then it can continue with an element or two outward before turning and doing its second dive between Kingda Ka and the Zumanjaro queue path. Do some more spinny flippy and then break run around the end of the El Toro's ground terrain section and turn back into station.

Only issue is that's where the queue line for Zumanjaro is, in fact Zumanjaro was essentially RTs replacement.

I am of the opinion that the entire area outlined in red needs to be demolished and redone over multiple years.  Maybe relocate the animals, slingshot, and Dare Devil Dive somewhere else in the park.

I do think the entire area over by Superman and GL needs work. What really bothers me is the empty pavement in between GL and the Golden Kingdom, I wish that space was actually used for something, my suggestion would be to expand the Golden Kingdom so that it's more than just a way to get to Kingda Ka. Maybe relocate the Safari Kids area theme over to that spot or something.

Assuming the Dive Coaster at FT does get cloned at Great Adventure; where you going to build it?

Perhaps a ride would be removed to make room for it. Personally I would like to see Green Lantern gone because it's an awful ride that adds nothing to our coaster lineup, but that's just my opinion.

  7. With Fiesta Texas' announcement yesterday, I'm thinking there is a chance that we could see a clone of their dive machine headed over here sometime in the distant future (a couple years from now). Six Flags has added coasters to FT and then cloned them and/or added slightly altered versions of them for GAdv a year or two later on two separate occasions (the freespin and JDC) so it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they are looking to do.

It would be cool seeing a dive machine here as the nearest one is around an eight hour trip, and would easily be a top four ride in the park. That being said this is probably more of a wishlist type post than an actual prediction, but it's just an idea because often times Six Flags throws certain attractions in FT and GAdv, and then the rest of the parks. Realistically I could see this happening in three or four years if they actually do go through with it.

edit: I just realized that 2024 will be GAdv's 50th anniversary, we could potentially see something like this then.

  8. Here's a park improvement idea I think would go a long way. I would like to see a walkway somehow connecting the front of the park (once you made it past the entrance) to the boardwalk area or by Superman and GL. It's always a pain having to walk all the way around just to get over there and now that Kingda Ka and Toro are connected, it would make getting to those rides a lot easier as well.

The last two new coasters at Great Adventure have been based on the last two prototype coasters at Fiesta Texas.  We might get a peek into the future of Great Adventure when Fiesta Texas announces their next coaster for 2022.

Correct me if I’m wrong but FT is celebrating an anniversary this year I think? It’ll be cool to see what comes from that

I think that with the success of KI's Mystic Timbers and BGW's Invader that Rolling Thunder should be rebuilt but make it 10 feet taller and have a shed at the end like Mystic Timbers(where there is a rotation of the various songs and effects).

I am a fan of this idea, but I hope they’d remove Green Lantern to make room for it. Another wooden coaster is probably the biggest gap in the coaster lineup right now and Green Lantern is an awful ride that would fit better in the scrapyard. The entire boardwalk I think should be renovated too, especially the area past the carnival games leading to Superman and Green Lantern. It’s basically a parking lot section of the park.

As for next year realistically I expect a cryptid themed kids area in the obvious location considering Road Runner will be returning likely as Lil’ Devil. I don’t really see how a ride like that would fit into a Bugs Bunny Boomtown/DC Super Friends themed area which is why I threw those two ideas out the window, and hey, the more original theming the better.

Wow. At least they are ending with the bang, as I’m sure they made more progress than any of us could have anticipated with these global events happening simultaneously. It was a good run, but hopefully construction will resume again in the coming months. We’ll be back at the parks before we know it 🙂

Honestly as long as it's a faster construction than what was built at our Western counterpart (WCR at MM) I'm happy. That being said, the progress was really good, shame that it has to end for the time being.

  12. Personally I won't really care about any ride specs as long as this ride doesn't get cloned throughout the chain. GAdv is SF's second biggest park that ranks near the top in population center and in attendance, so it makes an addition like this being added to our park justified, a Raptor that's larger scale in almost every way. I think the smaller parks will likely see the Wonder Woman clones due to their cheap cost, and considering that they were able to put one it at a small to moderately sized park like Fiesta Texas makes that addition justified. This is also why I don't think we will see a TRex in the chain either. From what I've heard they will likely be very expensive, and considering the fact that GAdv and SF were willing to go all out on the Raptor concept instead of waiting a few years for the TRex concept to be ready for production makes me think that we won't see one in the chain anytime soon due to SF's budget friendly business model, especially since their model has no plan of changing even after JRA's retirement next year.

It would be really cool if they left Roadrunner Railway in the same area, repainted it and renamed it "Little Devil" (using the tiny toons taz character).

That would be cool but of course there will definitely be parents who won't want their toddlers riding a devil themed coaster.

Six Flags doesn't have a choice in selecting paint colors for DC Comics themed rides.  DC Comics says Batman is yellow and black now.

So that was the case back when our Batman was painted yellow, and then they changed it to blue and black when MM and OG repainted their Batman rides, and then they changed it back again afterwards? Was this due to The Dark Knight movie?

I don’t know if anyone has brought this up yet but Batman: The Ride’s sign has been repainted and it looks awesome!

I think they’re going to give it a fresh coat of paint for next season too which is awesome. I hope they give it a blue coat of paint so that we won’t have two yellow coasters sitting next to one another anymore.

    RIP LTSP.

    you will not be forgotten

In other news, I’m hoping Road Runner Railway moving to the Golden Kingdom where Cell Block 6 is but they’ll likely move it to BBNP or where safari trucks were

If RRR gets moved to the Golden Kingdom I have a strong feeling it replaces Splashwater Oasis. It would fit perfectly in that spot.

What month they will start demolishing Looney Tunes Seaport, clear the area and start construction on Jersey Devil Coaster?

I think construction will start as soon as possible, speaking of which will there be a thread dedicated to construction updates or will this thread serve that purpose?

  18. Honestly I couldn’t be happier with this addition. It has an original layout and theme, not to mention a lot of enthusiasts are saying that this will be one of the best rides on the planet. The fact that people are saying that this coaster tops what Kings Island announced is very exciting. For the first time in a long time, it looks to me that Six Flags has actually bested Cedar Fair in additions, and our new coaster was at the forefront of it.

One other thing I should add is that the airtime offered on WWGLC and Railblazer is said to be phenomenal, and the airtime is located on elements that weren’t even meant to have it in the first place. Imagine how good the airtime will be on elements that were actually made to deliver it, like the huge ejector hill, the stall, the raven turn into the dive loop, the turnaround followed by the zero-g roll, honestly I can’t get enough of the fact that this is a literal masterpiece. We don’t know how the ride will be obviously until it opens, but hearing rave reviews on the other Raptors out there gives us no reason not to be strongly optimistic about it.
