  1. Six Flags will have all parks open this year by the end of May. https://investors.sixflags.com/news-and-events/press-releases/2021/05-03-2021-144506021
  2. I am not one of those people, but I appear to be in the minority. Attendance trends are accelerating according to Mike Spanos on the Q1 Earnings Call.
  3. Silver Dollar City is announcing something big tomorrow. https://twitter.com/SDCAttractions/status/1388917820797464592 https://twitter.com/SDCAttractions/status/1388969302146043904
  4. I am looking forward to finding out which park is building this ride. http://amusementtoday.com/2021/04/gerstlauer-to-build-one-of-a-kind-record-breaking-roller-coaster-in-the-united-states/
  5. Silverwood announced that Stunt Pilot opens on May 29th.
  6. Goliath was removed from the Six Flags New England map.
  7. If I remember correctly, they are adding a S&S Screamin Swing next.
  8. The New York Times has a good article about the park today. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/09/style/clementon-park-and-splash-world-auction-amusement-parks.html Things I have picked up from other sources: Gene isn't a fan of Super Loops, expect Ring of Fire to be removed and sold. Hellcat will be retracked and will probably have new trains by the 2022 season.
  9. ^That is the first car, but I wouldn't call it a zero car.
  10. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster is no longer on the website. There is a rumor that it was sold to another park. https://www.sixflags.com/discoverykingdom/attractions/harley-quinn-crazy-coaster
  11. http://s-s.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Axis-Coaster.pdf
  12. Might have to set it on fire like the ostrich barn in order to get the right look.
  13. A power splash is about 530 ft. long and the power loop probably adds 40-50 ft. Neither one would fit in that space unless you cleared more land. Axis coaster prototype is 397 ft. x 135 ft. (Yellow lines on the above image.)
  14. The lights probably reached end of life and needed to be replaced. https://www.christmasdesigners.com/blog/how-long-do-led-christmas-lights-last/#:~:text=A good quality Pro or,between 24 to 30 months.
  15. I would drop a new flat ride and a S&S Axis coaster over there and call it a day.
  16. “It would have been much better if American Dream had burned down or a hurricane had hit it, financially,” said Kurt Hagen, senior vice president of development for Triple Five. “Because we would have been covered by insurance. But this pandemic that we didn’t see coming has not been covered and it is the worst scenario imaginable.” https://www.nj.com/news/2021/03/cash-crisis-at-american-dream-will-likely-lead-developer-to-lose-49-stake-in-mall-of-america.html
  17. I figured they would try to run this like Twisted Colossus, where one train is always a spare or parts donor.
  18. ^ I thought it was 4 trains with 12 seats each.
  19. Gene Staples, owner of Indiana Beach, is the new owner of Clementon Park. His son started a discussion on reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/mcxpl2/yeah_it_came_out_a_bit_early_but_youre_right_we/
  20. The 2021 park map for Six Flags St. Louis is out and shows Catwoman Whip replacing Superman: Tower of Power instead of the Go-Karts. https://static.sixflags.com/website/files/sfsl_park-map-and-guide.pdf I hope they plant some grass where the Go-Karts were.
  21. The park was sold to a single bidder for $2.37 million and it wasn't Fresh Development from the article above. https://twitter.com/InParkMagazine/status/1374442675877814282 "InPark has learned that Fresh Development was NOT the successful bidder for #ClementonPark. We still are trying to find out who made the winning $2m+ bid for the park." https://twitter.com/InParkMagazine/status/1374427297973903368 "BREAKING: #ClementonPark will be sold to the single bidder who bid $2.37 million for the park."
  22. I am not a fan of upcharge rides either. Zamperla announced a similar ride to Apollo yesterday.
  23. Hurricane Harbor Chicago is now a separate gate from Six Flags Great America and the 27th park in the chain. https://investors.sixflags.com/news-and-events/press-releases/2021/03-22-2021-110120968
  24. The new Hurricane Harbor entrance at SFGAm is looking good. This structure is replacing the small temporary parking lot entrance that was setup several years ago. Photo by DejaVu2001 at sfgamworld.com.
