  1. I'm on board for whatever it takes to get the coaster a fresh coat of paint.
  2. I remember loving these as a kid. We always played around with them each time we went to the park!
  3. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but I get security connection errors whenever I try to open this Spotlight as well as the one on Magic Hands. It doesn't happen on any of the other ones. I've tried multiple different browsers, both on my work computer as well as my phone, and I run into the same issue each time. Just wanted to give a heads up.
  4. I haven't seen any mention of a single rider line. I assume there isn't one?
  5. Wow, I don't know how I missed it, but I totally overlooked how that building used to be the Fun Factory. Excellent makeover!
  6. I heard the weather will improve if you decide to take photos of the construction site and post them here.
  7. Has anyone visiting the park recently seen any of the new Great Adventure nanocoasters from Coaster Dynamix for sale? I've seen them advertise both Nitro and Kingda Ka online but haven't been able to get to the park in recent weeks. I may swing by this Friday.
  8. Paul Drabek over at Negative-G just posted a trip report from ACE Coaster Con at SFMM. One of his photos is a model of GASM that the park pulled out of storage for the event. His guess is that this model was sent to SFMM in order to promote Viper as they had a similar layout. Harry, are you familiar with the model, and is there any validity to Paul's hunch?
  9. At this point, this is more valuable as nearly anything OTHER than an amusement park. I would not be surprised to see residential development spring up here. It's a shame to lose all the history of this place, but it's not even as if management had cared one bit about that kind of stuff (or anything, really).
  10. Harry, not sure if you're aware, but the links for your 1993 and 1994 poster maps aren't correct. The links are currently mapped to a hard drive instead of a website URL. Awesome job collecting all of these documents and sharing it with all of us! Such incredible history available at our fingertips!
  11. Although I'm happy the park went in this direction, anyone else think those numbers are a bit close together? Seems like a bit close for comfort.
  12. Patience is a virtue, you know. Surely there must be SOMETHING else with which you can occupy your time. May I suggest a timeless ball and cup game?
  13. That's what I was thinking at first, too, but when you see the new vs. old side-by-side, it became pretty clear it needed it again. Still, happy to see the touch-ups throughout the park, very curious to know if there are other ones out there that I missed last weekend!
  14. The Batman logo isn't the only thing with some fresh paint on it. The bathroom next to Studio 28 Arcade has been painted (now blue & grey), and Nitro's exit ramps are about 50% of the way repainted.
  15. Harry & Co, any official word on why the park chose to remove this so soon after installing it (aside from just giving La Ronde something new)?
  16. What pictures are you guys referring to? I don't ever recall this being advertised as anything more than what's pictured above in those photos.
  17. The concrete has been a recent sore point for me, as well. It just looks so dirty in places. I think that a little more power washing on a more regular basis would go a long way.
  18. These alone would cost WAY beyond what Six Flags would dedicate to the capex budget for 2020. Morey's spent $1.3 million on their LED install on their Ferris wheel, and the cost of painting one roller coaster can run over well over $1 million, especially on coasters as big as Nitro or Kingda Ka. Yea, the park still needs a lot of work, but it's important to remember the constraints they have and keep our pie in the sky fantasies grounded in a touch of realism. It's not as simple as "they could if they want to".
  19. Hey Harry, do you happen to know why the skyline panels were never installed? Do you know if they still exist, and if so, any idea if current management may ever get around to installing them?
  20. Great pictures as always! Very curious about your "Hmmm" comment on the old t-shirt stand!
  21. Man, we are really lucky that the timeline fell the way that it did. Can you imagine a world without El Toro?
  22. ^ I'd agree, I think I'd pick the old Freefall spot as well. I've always been curious about what led to the delayed name change. Any word on a confirmed reason behind the re-theme?
  23. Press releases directly from the park are going to be more accurate than anything from an external source. I wouldn't rely on NJ.com in this case. EDIT: Looks like they fixed the article:
