So, I guess this is my Trip Report of the YEAR!

Doing something a little different. I use Lightroom to organize & edit my photos. As part of my edit/review/organize process, I can give each photo a rating on a 5-star scale.

I took 3,369 photos at Great Adventure this year, not including cell phones pics.

Here are the pics I'd love to share with you all which earned 4 stars or higher, in chronological capture order! I tried to remove some photos that were repetitive, but some I had to keep, so you'll see several similar shots of Nitro and El Diablo.

The pics cover the entire operating season and include some highlights from the year!

Disclaimer: A good portion of these were taken on backstage tours, at special media events, or with other granted permission. Do not venture into areas you shouldn't be without the proper permission. :)

1. I don't like the photo quality that much, but I thought it was pretty cool to see the mechanics climbing up Dare Devil Dive.

Very nice photos! The opening of El Diablo seems like years ago at this point. Those guys on Dare Devil Dive must have been exhausted when they got back down to earth.

I ended up taking 9877 photos this season which is less than last year when I took more than 10,000. I thought that was odd especially since this season was longer and I took so many photos of HITP. Turns out the reason it was lower was because I got to the Safari fewer times this year because I arrived later in the day on most of my trips.

Thanks!

Harry, I said the same exact thing about El Diablo in the photo caption I posted to facebook!

I topped out at a little over 5,000 pictures total for 2015, including non-gadv stuff. Looking back at 2014, I had 2,443 Great Adventure pics. This year was the first time I've had the shutter counter reset on my camera, so that was an interesting Y2K-experience for me. (How the image filenames go from IMG_9999 back to IMG_0001)

Thanks everyone :D

I think the year in review worked especially well this year because of just how many separate things happened. In terms of "large" things, we got El Diablo, Batman Backwards, and Holiday in the Park. For little (but significant) things, we got the new pumpkin king statue, the big noodle, the skull mountain waterfall, Macho Nacho, the Twister rehab, and the Cabana Cove Grill in Hurricane Harbor (just realized a pic of this didn't make it in).

especially the first one with the Dare Devil Dive mechanics.

One of them actually waved at us when he noticed me taking pictures!

Great pics Matt! Especially the ones with the Dare Devil Dive mechanics, that guy must be really brave to wave to you from the top. I also liked the HITP pics, the park was especially photogenic during the event!

Also I agree about Macho Nacho, it's my new favorite place to eat in the park since it's pretty good and is different from the typical food at the park.

Thanks, and that's why I like Macho Nacho. I'm a bit of a picky eater, and I usually end up just getting something I know is good instead trying something new. I was getting tired of same old burger and chicken strips. I do eat other things, but those 2 in particular I'm tired of. It's nice to have something new to add into the mix.
