One of the fanciest of buildings at Great Adventure gets its start as a basic steel box
The interior of the building was very simple and plain before the decorative columns and walls were added.
The building begins to take shape as the distinctive terrazzo floor on the porch is created, and the large windows are placed.   The original windows ran all the way to the floor, but were later replaced with shorter windows atop brick walls. Framework for the arches that will form the porch awnings begin to arrive
Workers begin to place the distinctive arch structure over the porch and the building begins to assume it's now familiar shape.   The original porch roof was canvas stretched over the arch frames.   Today these arches are a more solid roof structure which can better withstand the elements
With the arch structures finished, Gingerbread Fancy looks nearly complete.   The canvas roof and porch railings have not been placed yet, but the decorative fan designs have been added to the upper windows and the fiberglass decorative columns are now in place around the steel framework
